The Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, has sacked the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, Imo, Umuagwo, Professor Patrick Egbule.
The VC was relieved in a press statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Cosmas Iwu, and made available to newsmen in Owerri, the state capital.
Egbule was replaced by Professor Christopher Chiedozie Eze, with immediate effect as acting vice-chancellor of the university.
The statement read in part: “The Executive Governor of Imo State, His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma has approved the immediate removal of Professor Patrick Egbule as the Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, Umuagwo, Imo.
“Consequently, in accordance with the law establishing the university, His Excellency has approved the immediate appointment of Professor Christopher Chiedozie Eze as Acting Vice-Chancellor of Imo State University of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, Umuagwo.”
“While His Excellency wishes the former Acting Vice-Chancellor well in his future endeavours, he urges the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Chiedozie Eze, to apply himself to the highest standards in the administration of the young institution.”
