The Nasarawa State Police Command has discovered a suspected baby factory in Karu Local Government Area of the state.
The command stated that six girls and a six-month-old baby were rescued from the factory.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel, in a statement in Lafia on Wednesday, said: “On November 17, 2022, at about 2:00 p.m., police detectives attached to the New Karu Area Command, acting on a tip-off, blew up a Suspected baby factory. In Ado Kasa and six young girls and a six-month-old baby were rescued at the Santa Bridget orphanage home run by an Eze Ezeogu Norbert from Karu Berri and three others.
“Consequently, the following suspects were arrested: Eze Ezeogu Norbert, Nnaemeka Eze, Okechukwu Ogechi and Obiagheli Chidi.
“Previous investigations revealed that the orphanage operator abducts pregnant underage girls, holds them until they give birth and sells the children to the highest bidder.”
