Adamawa State Governor and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate in Adamawa State, Ahmadu FintiHe won the majority of the votes cast in Saturday’s election.
Although Mr. Fintiri has not yet been formally declared the winner of the election, as at the time of this report, the results of all the 21 local government areas of the state have been announced at the INEC collection center in Yola, the Adamawa State capital.
A PREMIUM TIMES tally of the declared results shows that Mr. Fintiri got a total of 421,522 votes while his nearest challenger, Aisha Dahiru of the APC, got 390,275 votes from 21 local governments.

As of Monday morning, Mr. Fintiri was leading Ms. Dahiru, known as Binani, after the results of the 20 local governments were announced. But the APC candidate was hoping for a big victory in the remaining local government, Fufore.

Fufore results were announced on Monday afternoon.
Although Binani won at Fufore, it was not enough to close the margin of victory for Mr. Fintiri.
In total, Mr. Fintiri won in 13 local governments and Binani won in eight.
The Adamawa governorship seat was a close contest between the two candidates.

INEC is expected to declare Mr. Fintiri the winner of the election in the next few minutes.
