Rome Manager Jose Mourinho has likened Victor Osimhen to Didier Drogba, but has warned the Nigerian striker to stop diving, PUNCH Sports supplement the reports
The Nigeria international took his tally to 14 Serie A goals this season when he expertly controlled Kvicha Kvaratskhelia’s cross with his chest and juggled it onto his right thigh before smashing home a right-footed volley.
His 14 goal tally matched last season’s overall record.
“I told him he scored a fantastic goal and he needs to stop diving so much,” Mourinho said after the game.
“It was a fantastic goal, he did the same when we met at the start of the season, so he’s a great player. But it doesn’t have to sink.
The former Tottenham and Chelsea man also revealed that he would sign for a big-money club.
“If Victor changes, that’s fine. I would buy it if I was in a club with a lot of money”, he continued.
“However, if he goes to England one day, he has to change, because in Italy they tolerate that behavior, whereas in the Premier League they would be tough.”
Napoli, who are seeking a third Scudetto 33 years after their last victory, are away to Spezia in Sunday’s Serie A match.
