The apex socio-cultural organization in Igbo land, Ohanaeze Ndigboa, has condemned Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo for his comment on former Governor Peter Obi State and Labor Party presidential candidate in the 2023 general election. .
The Igbo group said he took Soludo to two gods in Igbo land for rejecting the legacy of Peter Obi.
The group said this in a statement signed by its General Secretary, Okechukwu Isiguzoro on Tuesday.
Soludo, in a lengthy letter, said Obi was not ready for the presidential race, stating that he was catching a cruise.
But in the statement, Ohanaeze said: “Ndigbo have taken Governor Soludo to two famous gods and goddesses (in Chokoleze Mbaise and Ubiniukpabi Arochuku) for his senseless public behaviour.
“Governor Soludo’s actions are ridiculous, senseless and premature; there was no room for the Governor’s outburst and the punishment against Soludo will serve as a deterrent to Igbo deities to Ndigbo and the South East politicians who have been hired by Nigerian enemies to dethrone Obi’s presidency in 2023.
“Governor Soludo exposed and denounced treason when he discredited APGA and Labor Party presidential candidates as not viable alternatives to win the 2023 election.
“How can a state governor of two presidential candidates (APGA and LP) make such a public statement?
“He has asserted himself as the number one enemy of the new Nigeria and was hired by an unknown presidential candidate looking for Igbo politicians to discredit Obi ahead of the 2023 elections.
“We advise Soludo to concentrate on the current crisis in Anambra State and APGA and stop throwing comments and comments on the person of Mr. Peter Obi. The LP presidential candidate is not in the same political party with him and he is not fighting against the Anambra State Government.”
