The Nigerian Embassy in Doha has advised Nigerians traveling to Qatar to abide by the rules of the host country.
The mission issued the advisory on Thursday ahead of the start of the 2022 FIFA World Cup on Sunday.
He also advised Nigerians not to fall prey to visa scams, noting that the special World Cup visa called the “Hayya Card and Entry Permit” could not be exchanged for a work visa or permit.

“The Embassy would like to strongly advise Nigerian fans traveling to the football party to try to abide by and respect the laws of the host country while in Qatar and to ensure that they comply with all relevant guidelines/requirements for visiting fans before embarking on any journey.
“Furthermore, the Embassy wishes to state in no uncertain terms that the special world cup visa called the Hayya card and entry permit cannot and will not be changed or changed to a work visa or permit.
