Cristiano Ronaldo wished Manchester United well on Tuesday as he bids farewell to the club.
According to Premiere League, Ronaldo thinks it is the right time to look for new challenges.
In a post on his verified Instagram page, the Premier League quoted Ronaldo as saying: “I love Manchester Utd and I love the fans, that will never change. I think it’s the right time to look for a new challenge. I wish Manchester Utd all the best,” the league Calling it “@christiano’s farewell message to @manchesterunited”.
Man United announced on Tuesday that Ronaldo would be leaving the club by mutual consent with immediate effect.
The club, however, appreciated the contribution of the Portuguese, who scored 145 goals in 346 games over the two periods.
This was announced on Tuesday in a statement on the club’s official website.
The statement read in part: “Cristiano Ronaldo will be leaving Manchester United by mutual consent with immediate effect.
“The club would like to thank him for his immense contribution over two spells at Old Trafford, scoring 145 goals in 346 appearances, and wish him and his family all the best for the future.
“Everyone at Manchester United continues to work together under Erik ten Hag to continue the team’s progress and achieve success on the pitch.”
