The former Two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua could be in line to face Filip Hrgovic for the next world title, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
Joshua will have this opportunity if IBF champion Oleksandr Usy decides to vacate his belt to continue his WBC title fight with Tyson Fury.
Joshua lost his IBF, WBA, WBO and IBO titles to Usyk, then failed to regain them in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia in August.
The British-Nigerian is considering his options after a third defeat in his last four bouts after scrapping a proposed fight with Fury after talks were at an advanced stage.
Now there is hope that his next fight could be a belt fight with Usyk to defend his WBA, WBC and WBO titles against Fury.
The Ukrainian would then have to relinquish his IBF crown, meaning IBF bosses would order Hrgovic and Andy Ruiz to reunite for the vacant belt.
However, Ruiz is looking for a fight with Deontay Wilder and if that happens, Joshua would be the man to take his place.
