The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has said that improved private sector participation will create more jobs for the youth and boost the state’s economy.
The governor disclosed this in a statement on Monday at the end of the 2022 state international fair held at Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos.
Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Sanwo-Olu, Mrs. Folashade Jaji, stated that the fair provided another opportunity to showcase the investment opportunities that his administration has achieved as part of its plans to improve the economic status of the state.
He said: “So far, our administration has done a lot to improve the business environment by implementing pro-business policies, ease of doing business, incentives and our continued commitment to infrastructure development and innovation.
“The reality of the times has placed on us the task of creating and seizing opportunities through improved private sector participation to accelerate economic growth, create more jobs for our many young people and improve our capacity to generate income.”
The state Commissioner for Trade, Industry and Cooperatives, Dr. Lola Akande, stated that the administration would continue to facilitate an enabling business environment for all.
“The administration of Sanwo-Olu continues to maintain its status as a committed cross-business enterprise by adopting deliberate policies and continuous focus on promoting entrepreneurs in line with global best practices and also creating public value for entrepreneurs in an increasingly unstable environment. uncertain, complex and ambiguous because of the world’s economic challenges,” he said.
