    Heskey wants Osimhen at Liverpool

Ass a number of clubs are continuing to target Nigeria international Victor Osimhene ahead of the next transfer window, former Liverpool striker, Emile Heskey has urged the Reds to make a move for the Napoli forward.

Osimhen is one of the most sought-after strikers in Europe after two impressive seasons at the Italian club.

The 23-year-old joined Napoli in 2020 for a club-record fee of £81m plus advertising and has become part of the club.

Despite an injury-plagued season, the Super Eagles striker is Italy’s top scorer in Serie A with nine goals in 11 games and is one of the reasons Luciano Spalleti’s side are top of the league and have also finished ahead of Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League. phases of groups.

The former Lille player has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United, with a number of Europe’s top clubs including Chelsea and Real Madrid also continuously linked with an interest in the forward.

Despite Liverpool having just signed Uruguayan star Darwin Nunez following Sadio Mane’s move to Bayern Munich, Anfield great Heskey believes the Reds should do everything possible to sign the Nigerian, who he believes has the qualities the club need.

“It would definitely give them something different to what they have now,” Heskey told betting website Safe (per Anfield Watch).

“He is different from Nunez, who can play wide; Osimhen would be that main objective threat.

“He is fast, has an eye for goal and can finish very well with both feet. He is a top player. I think Napoli paid a lot, that’s why they ask for a transfer fee of 100 million pounds.

“I saw him score against Leicester in the Europa League last season and he’s a great striker and would certainly improve Liverpool’s chances in attack.

“He’s a great player and I think his pace means he would be a great fit for the Premier League.”

Osimhen, who recently won Global Soccer’s “Emerging Young Player of the Year” award in Doha, is currently resting as the Eagles have failed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
