President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Ibrahim Gusauon Tuesday visited former Nigeria captain Henry Nwosu at the Federal Medical Center in Asaba, where the legend has been receiving treatment for an undisclosed illness for several weeks.
Nwosu, the youngest player on Nigeria’s 1980 Africa Cup of Nations title at home, had been in hospital for some time, with top politicians, captains of industry and football bosses showing interest in his health. the situation

Nwosu was a formidable force in the Nigerian senior men’s national team in the 1980s and played in three African Cup of Nations finals (1980, 1984 and 1988). He was one of the best players in the 1984 and 1988 editions, both of which Nigeria lost to Cameroon in the final.
In the 1988 Morocco final, he scored a magnificent goal against the Indomitable Lions, disallowed by Mauritanian referee Idrissa Sarr, and the incident remains a constant talking point in the 65-year history of Africa’s flagship football tournament.
