The world football organization, FIFA, has banned England striker Harry Kane from wearing the ‘OneLove’ armband during the World Cup in Qatar.
Kane has been threatened by FIFA with an immediate yellow card if he takes to the pitch in the opener against Iran on Monday evening (today).
FIFA has strict rules about what players can wear and armbands are not allowed under the code.
The armband is designed to show solidarity with minority groups that are criminalized in the host country.
The Daily Mail UK reports that if Kane wears the armband for a second time in his next game, the skipper could be slapped with another yellow card, leading to an automatic third game ban.
