recently promoted Doma United came back from a goal down to condemn the defending Nigeria Professional Football League champions to a shocking 2-1 defeat in Gombe on Sunday.

Denis Ndasi gave Rivers United the lead in the 25th minute of the match, but the hosts responded five minutes later through Usman Musa.

Musa turned things around for the Savannah Tigers with the second goal and the game winner in the 68th minute to condemn Rivers United to their first defeat of the season.

Meanwhile, Wikki Tourists have finally got their first win of the season by beating Enugu Rangers in Bauchi 1-0.

The only goal of the match was scored by Abubakar Aliyu before the end of the first half.

Elsewhere in Akure, Stephen Chukwudi’s 4th minute goal was all Sunshine Stars needed to earn their second win of the season over visiting Bayelsa United.

In Group B, 10-man Remo Stars could not close the gap on Bendel Insurance at the top of the table as they went down 3-1 against Akwa United in Uyo.

The hosts took the lead from the penalty spot through Cyril Olisema, but Remo equalized through Qudus Akanni just before the half-hour mark.

Uche Collins put the Promise Keepers ahead before the end of the first half, and Segun Olale put the ball into his own net in the 60th minute to give Akwa United a two-goal cushion.

In Aba, two goals from Chukwuemeka Obioma led Enyimba to a 2-0 win over El-Kanemi Warriors, just as Samuel Ayanrinde scored twice for 3SC as they beat Nasarawa United 2-0.

At the end of the sixth round, Bendel Insurance still leads Group A with 16 points, while Rivers United are level with Lobi Stars in Group B with 13 points.

Nasarawa United is the only team to have won a match this season.
