Challenges made me tougher, smarter — Michael Uchegbu – Punch Newspapers

A budding actor, Michael Uchegbu, says the early challenges in his career made him tougher and smarter.

in an interview Saturday Beats, he said, “Every career path has its challenges, and acting is no different. However, in the midst of challenges, a model must be designed to deal with them and move forward. As the cliché says, ‘How one makes one’s bed decides how one would lie on it’. In fact, these challenges taught me to push myself even harder and be smarter. Today, I don’t see them close to those challenges I faced”.

The actor also stated that he had a passion for acting since childhood. He said: “I have always had a passion for acting since I was a child. I had to seize every little opportunity to act; be it on stage or screen. My father was not so supportive early in my career, but the consistency of my belief eventually opened bigger doors for him.

“Some of my notable work includes: ‘What She Wrote’ on Amazon Prime, ‘Rattlesnake’ on Netflix and many more on YouTube. I look up to quite a few great actors. Without naming anyone in particular, each has influenced my career” .

Uchegbu said: “That depends on what is understood as success because from my point of view it is not categorically determined which of the sexes is doing better than the other.

“Everyone is on their own path, trying to find the right balance to succeed in this creative space. There are two sides to a coin, and how it spins determines one’s reality. The women seem to be doing a lot, but the men are also doing well.’
