Barcelona are trying to sign Moroccan international and Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat on a season-long loan deal.
League chiefs are reportedly considering a loan move for Manchester United winger Anthony Elanga.
According to ESPN, La Liga has confirmed to Barca that they have a small salary cap to sign players this season, which has led the club to look for loan moves to bolster their squad for the end of the season. The January transfer window is only a few hours away.
Barca are looking at several options and at the same time they are offering players from all over Europe.
Amrabat could add depth to Barca’s midfield, although Fiorentina say he is not for sale as his contract expires in 2024.
At the 2022 World Cup Amrabat emerged as one of the players of the tournament, starring in midfield as Morocco reached the semi-finals.
Although Fiorentina find themselves 12th in the Serie A table, the 26-year-old has managed to attract the attention of the likes of Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur at one stage, with Fiorentina saying the player was not for sale.
However, the Daily Mail UK also report that Barcelona have made contact with Fiorentina regarding a direct loan deal, although Fiorentina have yet to give the green light to the move.
The Catalan giants are five points clear at the top of La Liga and Fiorentina’s green light could mean the African joins the La Liga side.
