The candidate of the All Progressives Government in Taraba State, Emmanuel Bwacha, on Monday assured supporters that the APC will take over the state in 2023, despite the challenges facing the party in the state.

Bwacha, who spoke at a press conference at the campaign office in Jalingo, said that all disputes over his appearance as the party’s gubernatorial candidate will soon be over.

The governorship hopeful who was reacting to the recent ruling of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja which ordered a fresh primary election within 14 days of removing Taraba as APC candidate said he has appealed the ruling.

The case was launched by the senator representing Taraba Central in the National Assembly, Abubakar Yusuf, challenging the emergence of Bwacha as the governorship candidate of the APC in the state.

Also, last month, in a case filed by another gubernatorial aspirant at the Federal Court in Jalingo, David Sabo-Kent removed Bwacha as the party’s gubernatorial banner for the next general election and ordered another primary election.

But at a press conference in Jalingo, Bwacha said, “The litigation will soon be over. The people of Taraba want to form the APC government and I assure you we will not lose.

“We want to put an end to the seasonal practice of politicians coming from Abuja to contest elections only to go back and seek appointments. The people of Taraba want to join the center.

“I want to inform you that all cases have been appealed. I would like to appeal to my supporters not to worry about the decision of the lower court. We have appealed the judgments and we will not lose them by the grace of God.

“The national secretariat of our party has intervened in the matter, but what has happened in the party is especially aggravated by the activities of the PDP at the state level.

“The national chairman sat down with the affected members and my colleagues in the National Assembly did the same but you know that PDP is afraid of the APC hurricane that is coming to take over the state and is doing everything to stop it but it is too late now because the people of Taraba have seen the light,” he said. .

As he was about to flag off the campaign, Bwacha said he would not withdraw the campaign until the court cases were over.

“Now we can’t make a flag because it looks like we’re disobeying the court’s orders. We respect the rule of law and will do so when these cases are over.

“However, we are in contact with our supporters and they are aware of what is happening. I want to make sure that we win in the end,” he added.
