Curtis James Jackson III, the American rapper and producer better known as 50 Cent, has announced plans to release a movie series based on notorious Nigerian internet fraudster Ramon Abass.
Known as Hushpuppi, Abass was arrested in Dubai, United Arab Emirates in June 2020 for defrauding 1.9 million people, most of whom were Americans.
He was then extradited to the United States for trial on July 3 of the same year.
As reported earlier PUNCHOn Monday, the United States District Court for the Central District of California sentenced Hushpuppi to 11 years and three months for laundering the proceeds of a school funding scam, business email compromise and other fraudulent cyber schemes.
The 37-year-old had previously pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against him during the trial.
Sharing photos of the convict, 50 Cent made it known through him Instagram realized on Wednesday that he was working on a film project based on the story of Hushpuppi.
The G-Unit Records founder wrote in the caption: “Gotta do this for my cheaters. Hushpuppi series coming soon! GLG, Green Light Gang I didn’t miss it. #Bransoncognac #lecheminduroi #gunitfilmandtv.”
