Afrobeats singer Yemi Alade has ended plans to release the visuals for ‘Pounds and Dollars’.
single starring Rapper Penthauze Phyno was one of the hit tracks on the ‘African Baddie’ EP released late last year.
The video, scored by renowned music director Clarence Peters, will be released on all platforms on Thursday.
The success stemmed from her third EP and many labeled it a prayer song as Yemi’s lyrics talked about the importance of hard work and prayer.
On the track, the singer sang: “What will be will be, my mother says, do what has to be done and kneel down. What will be will be, pray every day, do what needs to be done, pay your hustle”.
In December, a teaser was dropped to whet the appetite of fans who took to social media to voice their hopes for a video for the song.
The viewer currently has over 479,000 views and 3,000 likes.
On social media platforms, many also talked about the artist’s talent for dropping hits.
Although the single by the famous “International African Baddie” did not chart, it did well in the local Nigerian charts.
With its introduction YouTube chartsthe single entered the top 100.
