An international makeup brand, Janettotty, has landed in Nigeria with two products: a two-in-one foundation and powder.
The brand, which has been in Europe for the past 12 years, is “designed to serve women of color.”
The products were launched at The George Hotel in Ikoyi, Lagos last weekend with several celebrities in attendance.
The owner of the brand, Janet Totty, who is from Nigeria, stated that she was inspired to create products to help women look more beautiful. She said: “Over the years, I’ve learned that true beauty comes from loving and expressing yourself as you are, not from striving for perfection. Confidence is where true beauty begins.
“After 12 years of intensive research in the German cosmetics industry, I was inspired to create an inclusive makeup line that addresses the fundamental shortcomings of people with my (black) appearance. That’s why I decided to make quality products available that would suit similar skin tones and be easily available in Europe and Africa which can be obtained”.
She also expressed a strong belief that all people of color should be able to find the right makeup products that match their skin tone and project their personal style without having to compromise on quality, sacrifice or break the bank.
She added, “Our makeup line is designed to highlight, not hide, women’s natural beauty. I’m committed to helping all people of color feel confident and beautiful.”
Speaking about the products, the Nigerian company’s Brand Manager Kachi Agaecheta stated that the two-in-one foundation, which is vegan and oil-free, is skin-enhancing and is available in four shades.
She added that the powder blends easily into the skin and leaves a light silky layer.
