An actress, Rachael Okonkwo, aka Nkoli Nwa Nsukka, will host a charity event in Nsukka, Enugu State, a carnival to entertain and empower needy people.

The theme, ‘Mega Carnival with Nkoli Nwa Nsukka’, will be the seventh edition of the event.

In a statement sent to Saturday Beats, the actor stated that more than 5,000 children and families will benefit from the outreach program.

He said: “Since I started this program in 2015, my goal has always been to reach the poor in society, including widows. By the grace of God, each edition has been bigger and better than the others.

“I hope to take in more than 5,000 children and families. This is our way of giving back to society.

“We will also distribute paper materials and other things to the children, while the widows will receive food. We will also equip the youth with the tools to empower them to significantly reduce the unemployment rate and give them the opportunity to showcase their talents.”

As the actor stated, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event could not be held in 2020 and 2021. According to him, “this year’s meeting will make up for the two years we lost”.
