The Chairman, Senate Committee on the Judiciary, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, on Saturday, described the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, as the best man to navigate Nigeria to a glorious destination after the departure of the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd).
Bamidele said the former Lagos State governor was an ambitious and results-oriented leader who could navigate the labors of insecurity and economic hardship to a glorious destination as an example of how he built Lagos into the third largest economy. Africa
The APC senator representing Ekiti Central, according to a “press release” from his media office, spoke in Iyin-Ekiti, his home town, while distributing rice and other consumables to the people of Ekiti Central Senatorial District to celebrate Christmas celebration.
Bamidele, called on Christians across the country to pray fervently for the realization of Tinubu’s presidency in next year’s poll, calling on them to resist attempts by some politicians to demonize the same faith ticket adopted by the APC.
“2023 is an election that must be done according to reality, and not according to religious fanaticism or ethnic ties. Poverty and insecurity ignore all these factors. We need a thoughtful, resourceful and results-oriented leader to turn the country around and not someone who will return us to the abyss of corruption.
“Tinubu has a rich record of leadership and a background that Nigerians can trust. He is a leader who unites and builds. He is a benefactor and not a thief like others. I am sure he can do the job well and make Nigeria proud as a nation.
“As you celebrate, I pray for the success of our beloved governor, Biodun Oyebanji and his administration. Being successful, we will all have a course to be happy because we have expectations to fulfill.”
Bamidele said lifting his constituents out of dire poverty and prioritizing their welfare would be paramount to him as a senate representative.
Bamidele said, “As we celebrate this Christmas, the good people of Ekiti State should at this time consider the purpose of Jesus Christ coming into the world to spread the virtues of peace, love and charity and should also pray for the conduct of peace in the 2023 general elections.
“We must see politics as an opportunity to serve the people and not as a ‘do or die’ affair. A peaceful electoral process filled with honesty and fairness would likely ensure the emergence of credible and responsible leaders for the country through the 2023 general elections,” he said.
