The Presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has praised his former aide and current Minister of Sports and Youth Development, Sunday Dare, for his induction into the title of chieftain in Daura, Kastina State.
The Emir of Daura, the birthplace of the President, Major General (retired) Muhammadu Buhari, His Highness, Dr. Umar Farouk Umar, will confer the prestigious title of Sarkin Yasiri on the minister on Thursday, December 22, at his Palace.
While praising Chief Dare for his years of association with him, the APC presidential aspirant described the minister as a “political son, ally and partner of the progressive front”.
Asiwaju Tinubu said: “Special congratulations to my political son, ally and partner in the progressive front, the Hon.Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Chief Sunday Akinlabi Dare, on Thursday conferring the prestigious title of Daura Sarkin Yarishi.
“I commend His Royal Highness, the Emir of Daura, Alhaji (Dr) Umar Farouk Umar, CON, for choosing a great man for this important title.
“I’ve always known that Sunday goes to the top. When he worked as my Special Advisor/Chief, he shone brilliantly. He excelled in character, leadership skills and organizational skills.
“I have no doubt that he would be a worthy ambassador for the Daura Emirate, as he is in his native Ogbomoso where he holds the title of Chief Agbaakin, for the Yoruba race and indeed for our progressive family.”
