A Lekan Ibikunle singer, Kyla Cole, has said that her song, ‘Shaku Shaku Chinese’, which has gone viral on social media, especially Tik Tok, actually started as a freestyle.

I wanted to do something unique, iconic and different because I thought that was what would make my sound stand out, because mostly everyone has the same sound in the Nigerian music industry. Describing the song’s widespread acceptance as a “dream come true,” the singer said, “It felt like a dream when the single went viral on TikTok. I started getting phone calls letting me know that the song I released sometime ago was getting popular. TikTok, with more than 150,000 videos made with him. Stars like Ayra Starr and numerous social influencers also recorded themselves with the song.
Cole added that he first fell in love with music as a teenager. According to him, he has been influenced by artists like Wande Coal, Burna Boy, Davido, King Suuny Ade, D’banj, Wizkid and Brymo.
