Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has said his administration will partner with the French business community in the gaming industry.
The governor disclosed this, according to a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Gboyega Akosile, on Tuesday when he met with members of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defense and Armed Forces at his Marina, Lagos state house.
Sanwo-Olu told French parliamentarians led by Senator Bernard Fournier during a working visit to Nigeria that bilateral agreements with the state have made progress.
He said: “We are happy with the type of relationship we currently have with the French business community. We are taking a giant leap in our relationship and we are ready to do much more, especially in the transport sector where we currently collaborate with French companies.
“Lagos recently sealed a Memorandum of Understanding with the French government on e-sports. I am happy to share progress in this regard; we have some representatives of the state government in Paris today to open up more opportunities in the gaming sector as outlined in the agreement.”
In his response, Fournier said: “We will strengthen the agency to increase its contribution to the development of efficient and sustainable transport infrastructure. We will be ready to do better in other areas of cooperation, as well as agricultural allies.’
