RnB singer Robert Sylvester Kelly, popularly known as R. Kelly, has been transferred to a correctional facility in North Carolina, United States of America, where he is expected to serve a 30-year prison sentence for multiple sex crimes. .
He was transferred to the Butner Federal Institution in North Carolina last week from the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Chicago, the US Federal Bureau of Prisons said.
R. Kelly was sentenced to another year in prison in February 2023 on federal child pornography and child attraction charges in Chicago.
In addition to the 30 years he is serving for a separate trial outside New York.
In September, a federal jury in Chicago convicted the singer of six counts of sexually abusing three women.
The women testified in the video under the pseudonyms Jane, Pauline and Nia.
The jury also acquitted Tracy and Brittany of the other two counts.
The singer was also acquitted of seven other charges, including obstruction of justice, in which he and two associates were accused of rigging a child pornography trial in 2008 in Cook County.
