The Criminal Investigation Department of the Nigeria Police, Alagbo, Ikoyi, Lagos, says it has arrested some people in connection with the alleged attempt to kidnap Tiwa Savage.
The spokesperson of the department, CSP Oluniyi Ogundeyi, confirmed this to the News Agency of Nigeria on Saturday in Lagos.
As reported by NAN, the news of the attempted kidnapping of the musician spread on social media on Friday.
Reports revealed that he was saved from the suspects by the musician’s private security guard and the Nigerian Police.
It was noted that the failed plot was planned by Savage’s new housekeeper, who gave him vital information about him.
Sources said the house staff followed the singer as he left his house and shared information with other members of the alleged kidnapping team.
“Yes, we have some suspects, they are in our hands. There are about four,” said the spokesperson.
