The Ondo State Police Command on Friday paraded four persons for their involvement in some criminal activities in the state.
Ebine Adeleke, Aderemi Okiki, Alhaji Magari and Rabiu Olalekan are the suspects who were arrested for the crimes of murder, vandalism and illegal medicine.
Suspects parading in Akure headquarters, Police Public Relations Officer Funmilayo Odunlami said one of the suspects, Rabiu Olalekan was allegedly parading himself and working as a doctor before his arrest in Odigbo Local Government Area of the state.
The PPRO said, “On December 20, 2022, one Rabiu Olalekan who is parading as a Medical Officer at Iremide Private Hospital in Odigbo Local Government Area was arrested by a team of the Special Intervention Team after they received a report of unprofessional complaint against him.
“The suspect performed a cesarean section on a pregnant woman (name withheld), who was later taken to the Mother and Child Hospital due to excessive bleeding from her private parts, where the self-acclaimed doctor was found to have stitched her abdomen and urinary tract together.
“During investigations, it is revealed that the suspect is not a doctor but he went to the Ijebu-Ode School of Health Technology where he studied Community Health Extension Worker and he is misleading people about being a doctor. He also said that he invited a Dr. Bayo to help the victim perform a caesarean section but he does not know how to mention it the doctor’s address or contact, because he said he lost his phone, which was the only way to communicate with the phone. doctor”.
Odunlami also stated that Ebine Adeleke, who was arrested for murder, allegedly stabbed one Surulere Ajayi to death during an argument.
The other two suspects, according to the PPRO, were arrested for attempting to vandalize electric cables in Omotosho area of Okitipupa Local Government of the state.
He said: “On December 18, 2022, at 11:00 p.m., the police received information that there were vandals at the Omotosho Power Station, who were trying to remove cables from an electrical transformer. Immediately, policemen attached to the power station engaged the vandals and arrested one 21-year-old Aderemi Okiki.
“During the questioning he admitted that there were three who came to the operation but the others ran away. He also named one Alhaji Magari, 57, as the recipient of the stolen property.
“The items recovered are cable wires and a sack with two clips. Efforts continue to arrest the other suspects who are on the run.”
A police spokesman said all the suspects would be charged in court soon.
