The Governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Sule, has received over 2,000 people from the Bassa ethnic group who have expressed support for the All Progressives Congress in Nasarawa Local Government Area of the state.
The defectors who were members of the Peoples Democratic Party and Labor Party pledged their allegiance to the APC during their campaign rally in the LGA on Saturday.
Welcoming the defectors into the APC, Sule said he would give them equal treatment with other members of the party.
He expressed confidence that with the massive turnout at the rally, the people of the area were once again ready to give APC in the 2023 general elections, having stood by the party in the past elections.
“We are united in APC. We are seeing others leave their party to come because of the unity of our party. A loyal member of the party will not seek to create a crisis in the party,” added the governor.
