The Oyo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has again warned the state All Progressives Congress and 2023 governorship candidate, Senator Teslim Folarin, against vandalizing PDP campaign posters in the state.

The state publicity secretary, Akeem Olatunji, stated that a politician must understand that no one can attain political power unless God ordained it.

He said Folarin’s action was tantamount to making a mockery of the nation’s fragile democracy.

Olatunju stressed, “The ruling party has repeatedly called on the state Commissioner of Police, CP Adebowale Williams, to order Folarin and his political thugs to be warned before the state plunges into an avoidable situation after the incessant attacks on PDP cartels and cartels of public disorder.

“The party accused Folarin of being an opportunist who is the architect of the political machinery and total collapse of the APC in the state, repeating the same terrifying coup-like political style that drove him out of the PDP. The same attitude that led APC presidential candidate Bola Tinubu to refuse to accept and endorse his 2023 gubernatorial candidacy.

“What Folarin did before, during and after the APC state congress and governorship primaries in his party members and other aspirants like his main challenger Bayo Adelabu ‘Penkelemes’ in terms of vacating the kasas still leaves painful memories and faint devastation. he has many properties.”

In his reaction on phone, however, the Publicity Secretary of the APC, Olawale Sadare said PUNCH “No serious individual or party would assist Oyo PDP in its brazen attempt to cover its course, vandalism of campaign advertisements, harassment of opposition members and intimidation of the hapless residents of the state. The facts are there and they cannot use magic or anything to absorb them from their uncivilized actions.

“As a progressive party of decent people, we are not only concerned about the level of embarrassment the Oyo APC PDP administration has brought upon the state in the last 42 months, but also the reluctance of the culprits to become a new one. the leaf and thus allows people to nurture hope for a better future, in the face of the many challenges they face at the moment.

“It is understandable that Governor Seyi Makinde and his cronies see our gubernatorial candidate, Senator Teslim Folarin, as the biggest threat to face the next general election, but we want to emphasize that the good people of the state have a sense of pride. They have been eroded by the clueless governance that is said to be, while we keep the promise of restoration and value addition.

“Therefore, we call on Governor Makinde to quickly accept the inevitable reality of his resignation on May 29, 2019, we also call on him and Oyo PDP to abandon plans to further heat up politics for selfish political reasons.

“The issues go beyond the destruction of cartels and unprovoked attacks on political opponents, residents deserve to have their lives and property safe at all times, regardless of the political party they belong to or support,” Sadare said.
