…Marwa presents award to Buhari, NDLEA staff
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Tuesday presented the “Person of the Year Leadership Award” to the Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Brig. General Buba Marwa (retd.), Leadership Media Group Conference and Awards 2022 at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.
This was as Marwa dedicated the award to the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd) and personnel of the anti-narcotics agency.
The event titled ‘Credible Elections and Economy in Transition’ was chaired by Osinbajo, with former Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Odinga as the speaker.
Marwa stated that without the support of Buhari and the NDLEA staff who are doing the work, he would not have achieved the successes recorded by the anti-narcotics agency.
On the award, the NDLEA boss said it would motivate him and others in the agency to do more and fight the menace of drug abuse and trafficking in the country.
Marwa said: “This award will galvanize us, encourage us to do even more in this fight. It is a fight we are winning and we will win.
“We must thank President Muhammadu Buhari for giving us the necessary support and encouragement to effectively carry out our duties.
“Also, we must thank the agency’s staff, as they are the shoes to carry out the work effectively. I am grateful to the men and women of the agency, even without them, I would not be here.’
