The former Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh is excited to be part of the FIFA Technical Experts for the World Cup in Qatar alongside former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger and four other legends.
FIFA appointed the former Borussia Dortmund midfielder in October as a technical expert for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, which starts today in Qatar and runs until December 18.
Oliseh will be one of Nigeria’s representatives at the World Cup despite the Eagles failing to qualify for the world’s biggest football event in Qatar.
The 48-year-old took to his Twitter account to reveal photos of the FIFA Technical Experts from the World Cup in Qatar.
“Meet the 6 technical experts from Qatar who bring you Enhanced Football Intelligence (EFI’S) for every match collected by FIFA Worldwide under the leadership of ‘Mr’ Arsene Wenger; (Jurgen) Klinsmann, (Alberto) Zaccheroni, Cha Bum-kun, Oliseh, (Faryd) Mondragon and (Andrés González Jaen) Zubi. You can get live podcasts from FIFA after every game.”
Oliseh’s role will be to analyze matches, determine technical excellence and record the latest advancements and developments in the games.
Oliseh played for nine years in various age groups in the Nigerian national set-up. He was part of Nigeria’s under-23 team that won the gold medal in the soccer event at the Atlanta ’96 Olympics.
The former midfielder was also a member of the Eagles team that won the 1994 Africa Cup of Nations in Tunisia and also featured in two World Cups with Nigeria.
Between 2015 and 2016 he was appointed coach of the Super Eagles team.
