Nollywood actor and director Tobi Makinde has said government involvement in the Nigerian movie industry will continue to grow the industry and encourage the production of quality content.
The actor, in an exclusive chat with Midweek Entertainment, stated that there were many professionals in the industry doing things, but more resources were needed for quality production.
He said: “We don’t get the quality we want because we don’t have enough resources. If we have these resources, we can build a whole movie village and we won’t have troublemakers while we’re filming.
“The government should encourage us by investing in the film industry; there is a lot of potential and we have many professionals making things happen but we need more investment to get things going.
“We can have a film town like Hollywood; Nollywood is already growing, but we need it to grow further by putting out quality content. To make it happen, the government must be involved.”
