The Kaduna State Government on Wednesday said Nigerian security forces have killed a dreaded Kachalla Gudau terrorist.

“Mr. Gudau, a dreaded bandit who commanded a large number of foot soldiers carrying out kidnappings and killings in Chikun, Kachia and Kajuru local government areas was among the bandits killed by Nigerian Army troops in Kankomi, Kaduna state on Sunday.” said the state Commissioner for Internal Security and Internal Affairs, Samuel Aruwan.

“Diligent exploitation of human intelligence networks corroborated other available intelligence, which confirmed that Gudau was indeed one of those who were felled by the bullets of the brave troops when the notorious bandit repelled the attack led by him, ending his evil and infamous reign of brutality,” Mr Aruwan added. .

According to him, the remains of the terrorist were recovered by his gang members from the Kankomi forest where he bled to death.

Mr. Aruwan said credible sources informed him that after his remains were recovered, a large number of bandits under his command were buried in Kaso, Chikungo Local Government which was near Kaku forest.

Another terrorist killed in the encounter was one of ‘Rigimamme’ Gudau’s trusted lieutenants, Mr Aruwan added.

He said Mr. Gudau played a leading role in the abductions of students and expatriates from Kajuru, Chikun and Kachia councils.

He said the terrorist is known for killing hostages who tried to resist being held hostage.

    Cattle rustler and drug lord

Mr Aruwan said the late terror kingpin was also a known cattle dealer and drug trafficker.

“Added to these nefarious activities, Mr. Gudau engaged in coordinated attacks on herdsmen’s settlements, killing cattle, which made him the illegal owner of large herds of cattle. These he regularly exchanged for sums running into millions of naira. He also made illegal drug deals and procured sophisticated weapons and ammunition.

“The peak of his cattle trail came in the first and second quarters of 2022 where Kajuru LGA alone, Gudau and his associates made 1,600 and 3,332 cattle respectively, making a total of 4,932 cows stolen in the first six months of 2022. .

“With the continuous aggressive kinetic operations, the cattle rustling in Gudaur – particularly in Kajuru local government area – began to subside, with 132 cattle slaughtered in the third quarter of 2022 (including July, August and September).

“The heat of kinetic operations that denied his bandits freedom of action led to an attack on the Kankomi military base, where he met his Waterloo.

“Governor Nasir El-Rufai’s determination to contain terrorism and all forms of crime that threaten the safety and security of citizens remains unwavering. The Kaduna State government under his charge will continue to support the security forces on all fronts.

“The infamous end of Kachalla Gudau is welcome and a clear statement that those who pose a threat to safety and security will definitely have a date with history and face justice or their bitter end, however far it may seem,” said the official. statements
