A director of the National Food and Drug Administration and Control Agency, Dr. Monica Eimunjeze, has taken over as acting director general of the agency.
This comes after Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye’s tenure as the agency’s CEO ends.
A senior staff member of the agency, who wished to remain anonymous, confirmed this to our correspondent on Thursday evening.
The source said: “The CEO, Monica, took over. But we haven’t had a meeting with her because it happened this afternoon.”
Efforts to reach the media adviser at the agency headquarters, Sayo Akintola, failed as she did not pick up calls or respond to a text message sent at the time of filing this report.
Adeyeye was appointed DG of NAFDAC on November 3, 2017 by President Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.).
