Nollywood actress, Wumi Toriola has finally reacted to her marriage rumours, confirming that she has separated from her husband.
He also addressed allegations that he was violent during the marriage, stating that those allegations were false.
There were rumors of the actor’s marriage on social media after he participated in a viral TikTok challenge where he claimed to be single.
Celebrity blogger Gistlover also reported on the wedding crash, with allegations that the actor’s display of violence led to the end of the union.
Clearing the air of rumours, the Battle on Buka Street actress wrote on her Instagram page on Tuesday: “Recently there has been a lot of media attention on my marriage. Yes, it’s true that the marriage is over. We’ve been going our separate ways for over a year. It didn’t work, there was no need for drama , hence the reason for not informing my fans.
“But yesterday I saw a report where it was alleged that during the marriage I was violent, and I used to beat my mother and mother-in-law. It was reported that my ex made up these lies.
“For the record, I’m not a violent person. I have never had to fight with anyone and I was never violent in my marriage.
“The most painful part of the report is that I used to beat my mother. This is not just a personal attack, it is satanic. It goes against everything I stand for and believe in. As a properly raised Yoruba lady, it is hard to lay hands on your parent.
“In fact, my mother has been late for more than 20 years. And I never raise my hands against my mother-in-law. It has never happened, and it will never happen. My family members, my ex’s family members and our neighbors can testify to that.
“To those who started the rumor and to those who are spreading it well, I want to pray that God will reward each of us according to the works of our hands.
“As for me, I’m focused on the next level, and I’ve moved on from the past. I advise everyone else to do the same.”
Toriola married her husband on May 13, 2018, and they have a son together.
