Nigerian striker Terem Moffi is not very interested in a move to Premier League club West Ham and instead prefers a transfer that will keep him in France’s Ligue 1, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
If Moffi were to move in January, he would welcome a move to Nice rather than the London Stadium, according to the Daily Express.
The Hammers submitted a £20m plus add-ons bid for Lorient striker Danny Ings after signing Danny Ings to add more depth to their attacking reserves.
David Moyes’ side have run out of ideas in front of goal this season, scoring just 17 goals in 20 games, a record that has dropped them just one point clear of the relegation zone.
But Daily Express reporter Ryan Taylor believes 23-year-old Terem Moffi would like to stay in Ligue 1 this winter, with a move to Nice his preferred destination.
“From what I have been told at Moffi, he is not very keen to join West Ham,” he told GiveMeSport.
“He is quite happy at Lorient and if he were to move, he would be more open to joining Nice than West Ham, although he is interested in a move to the Premier League.”
The Nigerian international fits the type of goalscorer the Hammers are looking for, having scored an impressive 12 goals in 17 Ligue 1 starts for Lorient, ahead of only France star Kylian Mbappe on 13 Ligue 1 goals.
It remains to be seen if Moyes can convince the striker to make the move that Hammers fans and the board desperately need.
