Manchester United and Cristiano Ronaldo have been in the news since the striker’s explosive interview with Piers Morgan hit the airwaves.
The Portuguese star in the interview slammed both Manchester United as a club and manager Erik ten Hang, saying the club had not grown since Sir Alex Ferguson left in 2013, and said he had no respect for the manager.
The club said they were considering legal options regarding the interview and what could be done, but United believe Ronaldo will be released.
Although the Portugal star is in Qatar representing his country at the 2022 Qatar World Cup, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner may not have a ‘club’ after the tournament in Qatar.
According to The Sun UK, Real Madrid have turned down the chance to bring Ronaldo back to the club after the Spanish club said they do not want to sign any players in the January transfer window.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side could be without striker Karim Benzema after he was forced out of France’s World Cup squad due to injury.
Ronaldo stayed in Madrid in 2009 after leaving Manchester United. He spent nine seasons with Los Blancos and became one of the best players to ever play football, winning every offer.
