The late singer and songwriter Lisa Marie-Presley, the only child of the late Elvis Presley, reportedly paid as much as $400,000 a month for detox from alcohol, painkillers and antidepressants.
Lisa died in January after suffering cardiac arrest after being rushed to a hospital in California.
The only daughter of Elvis and Michal Jackson’s ex-wife was 54 years old.
Lisa struggled with addiction for a long time. After ending her relationship with her fourth husband Michael Lockwood, she checked herself into a rehab facility, according to Marca Lifestyle.
The housekeeper called an ambulance to find Lisa Marie unconscious, while Danny Keough, her ex-husband, performed CPR until paramedics arrived.
Like father and daughter, Lisa Marie Presley and Elvis Presley also struggled with pain pills after their 2016 breakup, with an insider saying “Lisa Marie said she was going to die if she didn’t get help.”
“He has a private $400,000-a-month detox team, and all the doctors go to his residence,” another source said.
Priscilla Presley was concerned about her daughter’s battle with addiction and “visited her more than once,” according to Radar, with sources also reporting that her addiction to pain pills began before she split from Michael Jackson, saying she had “excruciating back pain.” Others say that the “huge scandal of her husband (Michael) abusing her finances” made her life very difficult.
Insiders say Lisa “had a complete emotional breakdown, spiraled out of control and fell off the wagon.”
Lisa started using drugs when she was 13 until she was 17 and relapsed, the Marca report added.
“I did everything but mushrooms and heroin … or crack,” he said.
Elvis’ only son went into the Scientology program after partying for 72 hours straight and waking up with people on the floor.
“Cocaine, tranquilizers, pot and drinking, all at the same time… I don’t know how I got through it,” said Lisa Marie.
“One day I woke up to a bunch of people on the floor. I went to the Church of Scientology and I said, ‘Somebody…help me right now.'”
