John Aniston, Emmy-winning daytime soap star Days of Our Lives and Jennifer Aniston’s father, who died at the age of 89.
The actor’s daughter paid tribute to him on Instagram Monday morning, announcing his death on Friday, Veterans Day. John Aniston served in the US Army.
“Sweet daddy…John Anthony Aniston,” Jennifer Aniston wrote. “You were one of the most beautiful human beings I have ever met. I am so thankful that you have ascended to heaven in peace and without pain. And on 11/11 no less! You always had a perfect time. That number will have an even greater eternal meaning to me now.’
John Aniston was born Yannis Anastassakis in Crete, Greece, and immigrated to Pennsylvania with his family as a child. His most popular role was Victor Kiriakis Days of Our Livesbut also including his credits Look for it tomorrow, West wing and gilmore girls.
