A rising actor, Joseph Momodu, has said that while entertainers cannot do without female fans, he has learned from them how to manage attention.
In an interview with Sunday Scoop, he said, “Actors can’t do without female fans, married or single. Then one stops keeping things professional. When they complement one, one shouldn’t try too hard to be with each other. “Thank you ” and a “God bless you” is fine. It shouldn’t go to the point where they start sending (intimate) messages and pictures to them.
Recalling his early days in the industry, Momodu said, “The journey has not been smooth; it was really rough. However, I thank God for His mercies. If it wasn’t for his grace, I would have quit the industry a long time ago because people are not willing to help. When they see that someone is talented, they would want to knock him down.”
The actor, who plays the roles of boy lovers, admitted that he was stereotyped in the industry.
“Nollywood makes actors. I was stereotyped as a lover boy in Nollywood. However, I have also convincingly played other roles; and that has made the producers and directors see what I can offer. I have also acted as an evil and gullible husband. I’m not stereotyped anymore,” he said.
