Nollywood actress Ini Edo on Tuesday rubbished stories about her involvement with her colleague, Empress Njamah’s ex-lover, Nicholas Davis.
Posing as George Wade, Davis claimed to have leaked nude photos and videos of Ms Njamah after their relationship soured. He went to blackmail.
The ex-lover turned blackmailer was arrested on Monday by Liberian police. After that, the police reported that they had killed 20 more women, including top Nollywood actresses.
Late Monday, screenshots of Ini Edo’s alleged video call conversation with Davis made the rounds on Instagram along with a photo of her international passport.
Speculation claimed that a clip of the video call and a passport photo were found on Davis’ phone after his arrest, leading many to believe the actress was in a relationship with the suspect.
However, the actor, currently based in Texas, USA, cleared himself of his alleged involvement with Davis in an Instagram live on his verified Instagram page.
Dismissing the allegations, Ini said the people who released the alleged evidence turned against him because he barely responded to the rumors about him.
Ini Edo’s side of the story
On Instagram Live, the actress who studied theater arts at the University of Uyo revealed that Davis texted her with a foreign number last year about a movie he wanted her for.

The actor, who produced ‘Shanty Town’, said he introduced himself as a filmmaker, which continued the conversation after the colleague he knew gave him his number.
In that regard, the manager of Shanty Town said that the conversation started in person and that Davis wanted to have a relationship with him, which made him suspicious.
He said: “Someone is texting me with a foreign number. It was between August and November 2022. He said he is a filmmaker and wants to make a film with me. I asked him how he got my number and I mentioned a colleague’s name.”
“He starts talking about the movie he wants to make. I literally had the whole conversation the whole time this man was talking to me. He wanders off and starts getting personal, saying he wants to be in a relationship with me, and I told him that didn’t add up. I’ve never seen this guy face to face. “
Ms. Edo, who started her film career in 2000, added that Davis asked to send her passport and card, but she refused. He said he finally blocked it. He no longer had a direction for the conversation.
He stated that he did not know Davis, saying that the alleged blackmailer had once called him on a video call, and he took it, which is why he allegedly had a screenshot of the video call in his possession.
“He offered to see me at my friend’s wedding in London, but I declined because I knew I had to go to South Africa for a paid concert I was committed to. He asks me to send my passport and card. I refused. All these conversations, I relayed to the boy in question. When the conversation wasn’t going well, I finally blocked it.’

“The only time he called me on video call was when I was going to Akwa Ibom. Do you know when you choose a random call? I never saved his number. I hung up later and told him to call me on voicemail. Then this guy saves the video. Why haven’t they released the audio of the video?”.
The actor, who has appeared in more than 100 films, added that people dragged him into his web of lies because he was always silent. He insists that all allegations about his involvement with Davies are false.
The back story
On Monday, Nollywood actress Empress Njamah confirmed the arrest of her ex-fiancé, Nicholas Jack Davis, in his native Liberia.
In December 2022, the Nollywood actress said her ex-lover assaulted her and blackmailed her with nude videos he shared with her.
Mrs. Njamah, reacting to a video about her engagement, said she met her ex-lover when she lost her good friend Ada Ameh and was in the wrong place.
She described the relationship as going well and had no idea she was cheating until her ex-lover got hold of the nude videos.
Late Monday, a Liberian police video of Davis’ arrest surfaced online.
The actress revealed that when Davis came to Nigeria she said she stole all her belongings, including phones, credit cards and clothes. The need for lawyers ran into trouble, which brought in millions of naira to donate money.
The 42-year-old actress also revealed that the suspect had other victims, including her colleagues in the industry.
