The Independent National Electoral Commission will next Tuesday meet with governors, security agents and some presidential candidates ahead of the 2023 general elections.
The interactive session slated for Nicon Luxury, Abuja will feature INEC Commissioner for Information and Voter Education, Festus Okoye; Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje; his counterpart in Bauchi, Bala Mohammed; Governor of Benue, Samuel Ortom; The meeting was attended by Inspector General of Police Usman Baba.
These include Action Alliance presidential candidates, Hamza Al-Mustapha; Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council, Yabagi Sani; Nigerian Union of Journalists and other stakeholders in the electoral process.
This was announced on Wednesday by Edwin Olofu, the organizer of the program.
Olofu, who is the Managing Director of Platinum Post, noted that the panelists will discuss how the country can achieve credible and violence-free elections next year.
The statement also said Al-Mustapha would deliver a keynote address on the topic, ‘Contemporary Security Challenges and Implications for the 2023 Elections’.
