Mr Cross River, Abubakar Usman, has won Mr Nigeria International 2023.
Usman, a hairdresser, beat 11 other finalists after three shows in cultural, official and beach wear.
The event took place on Sunday night in Lekki, Lagos State.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Usman, an indigene of Kogi state born in Cross River, is also a make-up artist.
Ajewole Odunayo, Mr. Nigeria International, announced the winner.

Mr. Akwa Ibom, John Goodnews, a graduate of Mass Communication, came second and Nigeria has become Global.
Mr. Abia, Collins Okere, a student and interior designer, secured the position of International Tourism in Nigeria.
Usman, 25, became emotional when he was announced the winner, expressing his joy at his feat.

“I feel so blessed, so happy and uplifted.
“I know I have a lot to meet in my new role as Mr. Nigeria International.
“I am going to push for the empowerment of our youth, the less privileged and the unemployed,” he said.
Brenden Nsikak was among the contestants.
The reason
Organizers, Brendance and Crusader Ltd., said the competition touches lives, promotes peace and boosts tourism in Africa.
” The 2023 single girl, Mr Nigeria International is designed to promote culture, tourism and intelligence.
“We decided to separate the two competitions that had existed for 11 years, to give more concentration and attention.


“We decided to go into culture to promote and promote the nation’s culture among the youth,” said Dr. Brenden Nsikak.
Nsika said that more than 320 young people submitted to the 11th edition of the competition, with the theme: “Evolution”.
He said 30 applicants qualified for the competition, and 12 finalists were selected through public voting.
He said Usman would go home with N1.5m, while the first and second runners-up would represent Nigeria internationally and have consolation prizes.
Nsika told NAN that the pageant had a habit of selecting the most credible and valuable contestants.
As reported by NAN, some of the jurors of the competition are Ada Karl, film producer and actress; Adesola Oshosanya, an educator; Nkiru Umeh, actor; and Zak Francis, film director.
The presentation was mixed: Nigerian gentlemen and ladies.
The 11th edition is a one-girl competition.
