The new developments indicate that the Glazers have finally folded after years of pressure from fans to sell Manchester United.
According to Sky News, the Glazer family are considering selling Man United after their 17-year reign as owners, Sky Sport News reported on Tuesday night.
The Glazer family were seen to be “exploring financial options” after 17 years of ownership, with the majority of fans turning against them. It comes just weeks after Liverpool’s American property FSG announced they would also look into their financial options.
Man United have been in turmoil since Alex Ferguson left in 2013 and have rightly blamed the takeover for the club’s poor performance. It is safe to say that this is good news for the fans of the club.
Soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo comes as he just left the club on Tuesday.
Man United announced that Ronaldo would be leaving the club by mutual consent with immediate effect.
The club, however, appreciated the contribution of the Portuguese, who scored 145 goals in 346 games over the two periods.
This was announced on Tuesday in a statement on the club’s official website.
The statement read in part: “Cristiano Ronaldo will be leaving Manchester United by mutual consent with immediate effect.
“The club would like to thank him for his immense contribution over two spells at Old Trafford, scoring 145 goals in 346 appearances, and wish him and his family all the best for the future.
“Everyone at Manchester United continues to work together under Erik ten Hag to continue the team’s progress and achieve success on the pitch.”
Ronaldo also did good to the club in a farewell message, considering that it was the right time for new challenges.
