In the early hours of Tuesday, a fire destroyed the popular Singer market (Kasuwar Singer) located in the metropolis of Kano State.

Singer market is the largest market in the state where commodities like sugar, rice, millet, detergent and other consumables are sold.

At the time of filing this report, no fewer than five fire tenders were deployed to control the fire and prevent it from spreading to the shops adjacent to the market.

This comes five days after a fire destroyed Badume market in Bichi Local Government Area of the state.

Efforts to contact the Public Relations Officer of the State Fire Service, Saminu Abdullahi failed as calls to his phone did not go through.
