Popular Nigerian comedian and on-air personality Oluwatobi Owomoyela popularly known as Peteru has died.
He was 35 years old.
Peteru, known in comedy circles for his unique impersonation, died on Thursday.
It is reported that he died of colon cancer. However, some of his colleagues have taken to social media to mourn his death.
Peteru, until his death, was one of the fastest comedians to rise to fame in South West Nigeria, having worked with top Nigerian entertainers. He was also an MC, brand influencer and On-Air Personality in Ibadan.
Nollywood actress Muyiwa Ademola announced her death by sharing a video dedicated to the deceased. In the caption, the actor wrote, “This is a tough pill to swallow! How could this good, jovial man leave this world like this? Hmmm…okay.”

“Please be nice to each other, because we don’t even know what we are going through individually! I found out that Peteru died of cancer. You were dealing with such a burden, but I never saw you without a smile! It’s okay It’s okay It’s okay Have a great trip, great guy. I am speechless tonight.’
Other prominent entertainers in Nigeria have also expressed sadness over the unfortunate incident.
He is survived by a son who lives with his mother in the United States.
