England captain Harry Kane is to undergo a scan on his ankle two days before his country face the United States at the World Cup, it was announced on Wednesday.
Kane left the Khalifa International Stadium with a sprained ankle after the 6-2 win over Iran on Monday but took part in light training on Tuesday.
Gareth Southgate’s side face the Americans on Friday, knowing a win would secure a place in the knockout stages.
Kane, Russia’s top scorer at the last World Cup, is out with an ankle injury.
