The governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, has expressed his support for the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, ahead of the 2023 presidential election.
While reacting to the viral video on social media, El-Rufai said the state party was giving its full support to Tinubu to replicate his development progress as the governor of Lagos State in the country’s 2023.
The governor, while inaugurating the Kaduna State APC Campaign Council at the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua Indoor Sports Complex, Murtala Square, Kaduna, on Thursday, endorsed Tinubu, saying he (Tinubu) would not regret supporting him. .
El-Rufai said, “Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is our candidate, we all helped him get the ticket and we are sure we will not regret it.
“He is an experienced leader; He has shown what he can do in Lagos State, we hope he applies the same magic formula to transform Nigeria for the better.
“Tinubu is a leader who will be fair, just and fair to all.”
He stated that the mission before the campaign council was to ensure the absolute victory of the APC in the 2023 general elections.
According to him, his administration had done a lot in the last seven and a half years, which changed the narrative of governance and the progress of the common man.
He added that successes were achieved through collective efforts and that the same group would support all APC candidates to victory, adding that a vote for APC in 2023 would be a vote for progress and development.
The governor, therefore, called on members of the party to organize themselves and work and ensure that the APC is voted “top to bottom”.
The APC governorship candidate in the state, Senator Uba Sani, in his speech promised to bring everyone together and urged members of the campaign council to see their responsibility as a challenge and work as a team.
“Remember that you are taking a position of trust and don’t forget that in a democracy the power belongs to the people,” he said, adding that “they should look for people to vote for the party.”
He said that the party members should reach out to the grassroots voters and should work hard to ensure a sweeping victory of the party in the state as well as in the presidential elections.
The National Chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Adamu has called on all aspirants and councilors to work harmoniously for the success of the party.
Abdullahi was represented at the event by North West Vice President Salihu Lukman.
