In In the spirit of Christmas, Villarreal have released a short video featuring Nigerian striker Samuel Chukwueze in a mini-drama alongside Pepe Reina and Santa Claus Groguet.
In the video, goalkeeper Pepe Reina and winger Samuel Chukwueze entered Villarreal’s traditional home, the Estadio de la Ceramica, dressed as elves.
Father Christmas, Santa Claus Groguet, was hard at work preparing the playground and moving the presents.
But the elves Chukwueze and Reina, instead of helping Santa Claus, thwarted the efforts of the beloved man who is famous for bringing gifts to children on Christmas Eve and attacked the children.
The video ended with Santa Claus cheering up the repentant elves.
Before Christmas arrived, there was little to celebrate for Samuel Chukwueze in the Spanish League.
The former Golden Eagles star has not scored a single goal in 13 league games for Villarreal.
The Nigerian winger scored three goals for the Yellow Submarines in the 2021/2022 season, four in the previous season, three in the previous campaign and five in his first year in La Liga.
Only a few hours ago, the Diamond Academy product took to his social media page to show off his sleek Mercedes-Benz AMG GT 63 automobile.
However, the 23-year-old’s efforts have been well rewarded in the Copa del Rey, with two goals and two assists in two games.
Chukwueze also recorded the same result in five matches in the European Conference League group stage.
In total for Villarreal, Chukwueze has scored 33 goals and provided 28 assists in 199 games in all competitions since joining the club five years ago.
