Big Brother Naija reality TV stars on-air personality, Chinedu Emmanuel popularly known as Nedu, for his comments about female contestants on the show.
Nedu said many ladies join the popular reality TV show, Big Brother Naija, to get ‘customers’ and sell their bodies.
Nedu said this in an interview with Big Brother Naija ‘Level Up’ housemate Doyin on The Honest Bunch which aired on Monday.
He said, “You know what Big Brother does for you, he takes you out of here and shoots you, but there is no substance to hold you back.
“Na ‘Kpekus’ (slang word for female genitalia)) are offered by most of them, they go there on purpose to get ‘customers’.”
Following her comment, the BBNaija stars blasted the OAP as they blamed the trend of labeling female Big Brother housemates as people who use their bodies to make money.
Former BBNaija Season 7 housemate, Kesiena Adjekpovu popularly known as Kess, took to her Twitter handle on Tuesday to address the issue.
According to him, it is unfair to undermine the efforts of the female housemates of Big Brother: “This trend of labeling the female housemates of Big Brother as whores is disgusting. 95% of them are very intelligent, quite independent, talented and honest. It is unfair to undermine their hard work”.
Former Big Brother Naija Season 6 housemate, Angel Smith, also disagrees with Nedu, saying many women left the house to become actresses, start businesses and build a strong brand.
Angel wrote on Twitter: “This is all so old and boring. I don’t know why men can’t mind their own business.
“So many women have come out of big brother to become actresses, start businesses and have a really strong brand, but because you’re misogynistic and uninformed, you talk rubbish.
“A man in the industry is a woman-shaming whore. You are over 40 years old. If you want a sugar daddy, maybe get one. No one is stopping you.
“Look how happy he’s saying it. You will shame women for having consensual relationships and you will be surprised when men sexually assault women.
“Men are very jealous of women, because I don’t understand why you get mad at a grown woman.
“That’s why the women in big brother blogs grow down, some of the hardest working people I’ve met, especially those who put you to shame. Shut up losers.
“As this issue makes me so angry, then you will go online and say: ‘Nawa o, so money is f**king and oppressing us, don’t believe everything on social media.’
“No one is stepping on you, my love. You’re just a jealous rat.”
